AhhhhHHhhhh Phets NoodLe HousE…

If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s eating.
And I just love doing it over and over again. Of course, I’ll die if I don’t.

One lazy afternoon, I was hungry and was craving for a Buddies Taco.
So off we went to get one. But to our dismay, we’ll, MY dismay, they were closed.
On a weekday. I don’t get it.

I really wanted to get some snacks so we dropped by AH PHET’S NOODLES HOUSE.
It’s a chinese restaurant located in Escario, Cebu City before you reach LEX Hotel.

Well anyway, I did say snacks so you would expect that we ordered noodles.
Yes, we did. But just noodles? Cmon!
See what our snacks looked like…. (Don’t underestimate a food lover and a natural-born big eater…)

Beef Brisket – P65
The noodles. We ordered 1 for each of us.
Snacks? Ya right!

Rice topping: Humba (Pata Tim) P99

Does this look like snack food to you??
I told you I Iove eating! (Sometimes, a little too much)
This dish is so fatty that I can feel my heart stop.
And it just might if I don’t exercise and eat like this everyday.
THe taste is not bad… It’s okay. Not something that I’d go crazy over but it’s okay.

Oriental Spring Chicken – P99

Ryan loves his chicken. He just might turn into one! haha

Total: P389Image

But I do commend them for their good customer service. The waitress who waited on us was always smiling and very accommodating.
Price is not bad too. You can always visit the place if you are in the mood for noodles.

Till my next noodle moment Ah Phet!

Finding Serenity in Naval, Biliran…

The word that comes to mind when I think of Naval, Biliran.

A small municipality in the province of Biliran, in the Eastern Visayas Region.
Serene, peaceful and relaxing. That’s what Naval is to me.

I was born and raised in the city so I’m a natural coffee addict-fast-paced city girl.
But we all need rest sometimes. We need to stop and enjoy life and what it has to offer..

A little too serious write up for me? Nah. I’m unpredictable this way.. (*wink)

Seriously, after all the work we do in the city, we need a place just to be quiet and put our minds at ease.

I found the perfect place, yes.
Unfortunately, during my last visit, my mind wasn’t at ease at all since my job as an event organizer brought me to this place. My brains was full of “To do’s” and schedules.. But this wasn’t my first trip to this place.

Naval has a special place in my heart not just because of the agricultural beauty that it offers but because of it’s people. The people makes the place, I say. And the people are just beautiful creatures just like its scenes.

Very helpful, welcoming and smiling Navaleños….
I may not have enjoyed the place as much as I wanted to because of the wedding but I will definitely come back (for the 10th time) soon…

But for those of you who wants to visit, here you go:

CheZ ToztAr on a SaturDay night!

Enough said. You can’t just stay home and sulk, right?

One of my friends will be going to the states in 2 days and we can’t let her go without saying goodbye and bond before she leaves.

Best way to do that? Over dinner.

And the Restaurant of choice for tonight was….. Drumroll please..
Chez Toztar “House of Roast”!

Chez Toztar is this cozy place in the middle of the City.
It’s not just accessible, the food is really scrumptious!
Every single dish I tasted is a blast of flavor and texture in my mouth.

The best part? They grow their own vegetables and spices.
Organic, Healthy and fresh!

I don’t have the full menu… You just have to check the place out yourself.
Better, right?

And here’s what you’ve all been waiting for…
Our orders!!!

Exotic Green Tea salad- P 140
I know it doesn’t look presentable now but believe me, it was before we stuck our forks into it. hehe
Very light yet full of flavors.
Vegetables used in this salad was handpicked from their own garden which you can see before you enter the restaurant. Know any restaurants like that in Cebu?
Seafoods, yes. Vegetables and spices, not much.
Which makes this restaurant quite unique.

Mozzarella Sticks- P168/ 8 pieces.

Really good appetizer and hands down, the best mozzarella sticks I have tasted…. so far.

American Pork Steak- P188

The Steak was not as soft as I wanted it to be, but hey, it wasn’t my order and my friend seems to love it. I love the sauce though and the serving is really generous as you can see.

Tilapia in Hot Butter Basil- P 199

This is now my favorite dish. The spice really hits the spot!
Spicy fish? Cmon! It’s soooo good! (I’m a sucker for spicy food)
I will definitely order this next time.

Chicken Cordon Bleu – P 188
This used to be my favorite before I discovered the Tilapia. Hehe
There’s just something about the sauce that completes the dish.
Chez Toztar is really big on sauces. I believe it’s their strongest point when it comes to their food. But that’s just my opinion.

And the owner/chief is very hands on which is a big plus for me. 🙂
Great food, great place, amazing company = one great night!

Pole Dancing to Hit Cebu!

Cebu will have it’s first pole dancing classes…
God does answer prayers!

People may have bad impression when it comes to pole dancing especially when we know where they are usually being used. (wink wink)
But obviously, people are more mature now since they are embracing it.
And how I love them for embracing it…

Gold’s Gym will hold the launching of the 1st Pole Dancing in Cebu, today!
March 16, 2013 at the Atrium of J Centre Mall at 6:30pm.
You don’t need the details from me. It’s all in the poster.

Pole Dancing is just like any Gym Session.
It helps you burn calories as much as 250! And it helps build muscles and tones.
You get to have fun while you get fit!
And ladies, we’ll look real sexy while doing it too!

Who can argue with that?
Count me in!

Killing Boredom is Not Murder….

We all have those moments.
Even with all the social sites (another food picture?)
and online games (my hero is so going to die this round), we still get bored.
Well, I do.

I’ve tried almost everything to kill boredom.

And here is my top 10 list:

10. Read
– Get lost in a book. Get swept off your feet by a Knight in the Medieval period with the classics, scare yourself silly with a Stephen King or simply solve a case with Alex Cross. Leave boredom and create a new world inside your mind…

9. Music Trip
– Listen to your already compiled playlist or get new tunes to stay hip. (do people still say hip these days? lol)

8. Write
– You. Me. Blog. Enough said.

7. Clean your drawer
– Or better yet, you’re entire room! You’re bored, what else can you do??

6. Cook a Meal
– New dish, wine, soft music… We need to have a few dates with ourselves too, you know.

5. Make a goal list/ to do list

– # 1: Get out of this boredom

4. Watch a movie you haven’t seen
– Or if you’re too bored, watch an old movie that you enjoy and say the lines together with the characters. Everyone has that movie where they have memorized almost all of the lines to. Yes, you have one too.

3. Dance
– Nothing beats beating a boredom while swaying to a beat…
You know what I mean.

2. Work-out
– Hey, it’s the best time to get fit— when you’re bored!
Besides, if you get too tired, there are 9 more things on this list that you can do..

1. Sleep
– Nothing makes the time move faster than when you’re sleeping. When you wake up and you find yourself in the state of boredom again, just go back to sleep. It’s that easy!

But seriously, we really need to get off our arses and get a life to prevent boredom..
Get out and try something new for a change…

Go for social life, not social sites! (patented by me) lol.

Online Business can be your business…

Online Business.

From Facebook to multiply, more and more people are setting up their online businesses. And that’s a good thing.
Our generation is embracing the opportunity that technology is providing us and we are slowly shifting from the Employee mindset to an Employer mindset. (I admit, I read rich dad, poor dad.)

The Internet is giving us a big market. The whole world.
You really can’t get any bigger than that. Seriously.

I want in. Well, not now but someday (still in the works.)

But for those of you out there who wants to do an online business but does not know where to start, here are a few simple tips; not the serious-complete business plan-type of tips: (Maybe we’ll tackle that someday..)

1. Know what you want to sell
– you can’t sell something if you don’t know what it is.
Decide, study it, buy it or make it, however you get your products, then sell it. But don’t limit yourself to products alone. You can even sell your services and just post your portfolio on your page.
Yup, even blogging! 🙂
That brings us to…

2. Set up your page
– There are a wide variety of free sites that you can set it up to. Facebook is one example. They not only provide you a good site, they have even set-up a system on payments, invoices and etc. to help you with your business. Again, there are alot more sites out there that can help you out. Do research as well.

3. Market. Market. Market.
– Don’t be afraid to tell people that you’re selling something. You can’t sell something if no one knows about it. Selling is…. embarrassing sometimes.
Yes, I’ve been there. But you need to realize that when you go into business, you have to sell. If you don’t, then you’re just giving away your products/ services.

4.Good Customer service is Key

– Treat your costumers like gold. Yes, there are times that you just want to  pull your hair out due to annoyance and anger but please… grind your teeth and smile. I’m not saying that you allow them to piss you off. No. Call them out on their behavior in a NICE way.
The best advertising is through word of mouth so you really want to keep your costumers happy. Trust me.

5. Be true to your word and be honest
– Unfortunately, there are a few sellers (and buyers) out there who wants to see the world suffer (9gag phrase). If you’re serious about your business, then deliver what you have promised. It goes both ways for buyers but remember, you are the best model for your business which mean that your reputation is on the line. And ruining it is not worth a few dollars. You can always earn back money but integrity? Not sure when you get it back once you lose it. Maybe never.

6. Be excited!
– This may not be like the shops or boutiques in the mall but it is a start. And you even have the advantage, the whole world can visit your store anytime; not just during mall hours. You’ll earn money at the comfort of your own home.. cmon! That’s enough to get you excited.. And once you’re excited, the costumers will join you in that excitement.

and the last tip…

– If you’re a little OC like me when it comes to business where you need to make a business plan, marketing plan and all the plans in the world, it’s not going to get you anywhere until you actually do it. Don’t just plan it, execute. Just start.

There are alot of tips out there that can help you out.
Hope my simple ones will be of some service as well.

Let me know your progress and we’ll celebrate your success together.
Happy business everyone! 🙂

Good morning Brown Cup!

My boyfriend just got home from work and we were sooo hungry.

One of my favorites coffee/food joint was a nice and cozy place that a friend of mine and I used to go to for breakfast. My boyfriend hasn’t been there yet so I thought,
Hey, what better time to bring him there but during one of our hungry breakfast moments?
So about 15mins from our place, we finally arrived…

Good morning Brown Cup!

This place has affordable and quality coffee I must say.
But since we haven’t slept yet, Brown Cup coffee will have to wait another day.
So this is what we had to satisfy our early morning hunger…

Hungarian with Cheese – P 105

ImagePesto Butter Porkchops – P 100

And here’s the faces of the eating couple.. Image

And how can I not provide you the Breakfast Menu?

If you want good quality and affordable coffe, Brown Cup is a good place to go. The food is good too.

And yes, our hunger was very well satisfied.
Next time I visit would definitely be for coffee time.

This is a tale of today’s adventure. Spent at a hospital.. (too obvious?)
I know, lame name. But I like it!

So, our tale starts at 9pm where I was seated on my working chair, laptop in hand and ready to work for tonight’s shift.
Now I live with my cousin and her “hobby” this week is taking a bath with milk.
That’s right people. Milk.

As a Filipina, I guess she wanted to look fairer while I always want to be tan (my skin is fairer than hers by the way). People. Never satisfied, huh?

Anyway, so she took her time in the shower about an hour and a half with her milk bath.
Satisfied, she went to bed.

I was on my headset listening to music while I was working with prices, checking suppliers and their contacts and whatnot.

I needed a drink so of course, I took off my headset when……
I heard the softest voice saying “Ling…”  (I’m called Darling by my family…)
Calling ignored. I thought it was the radio or a cat.
It was 2 in the morning.. cmon!

Then I heard it again…. “Ling…”
I heard myself say… “Please don’t let it be a ghost..”
And then a 3rd time…. “Ling…”

It was my cousin calling out for me. I opened her door and there she was, in so much pain that she can barely walk. (I know it’s not funny……. yet.)
It turned out, she has been calling out for me for the last 20mins.
Thank you headset. tsk.

So as a Nurse by profession, I did everything I could.
Administered pain reliever, warm compress (stopped in fear of making it worse if its appendicitis), positioning and everything else I could think of.
Yet her pain scale was 9. That’s high.

And so, we called her boyfriend… well, ex-boyfriend (they’re cool) to come and bring her to the hospital.

Ex- Boyfriend arrives….
Cousin too weak to stand up..
Piggy-back ride.
(you get the idea)

So wobbly walk (due to difficult stairway and weight) and many sweats after, we finally got to the hospital.

The Funny part?
As we helped her up on the hospital bed, she looked at us and said…
“I think I’m okay now. The pain’s gone…”

After the slight panic, the sweat and wobbly walk..
Her ex-boyfriend and I looked at each other and laughed..

3am people. 3am.

According to my cousin, her pain feared the hospital and it fled. hahaha

I told you everyday is an adventure, right?
So today, this was ours… 🙂

And this is how she looked at the hospital…

Thanks Cuz for the adrenaline rush at 2am…

Till the next adventure everyone! 🙂

– Negative pregnancy test
– U/A will be determined tom. 🙂

Finding Magic in EGYPTIAN MAGIC

Well, at least that’s what it says on the product.

As I’ve mentioned in my previous blogs, I’m not a girly girl. I’m the tshirt- jeans type so I don’t really use beauty products (make-ups) as much as the next girl, but I am trying.
When it comes to make-up, I’m such an amateur that I just put on loose powder and lip gloss and I’m good to go.
But when it comes to skin care, now that’s something that I’m quite interested in.

I mean c’mon, you can try out other make-up products anytime but you can’t change your skin. Lucky snakes (bitter). lol

Anyway, I went to the mall with my mom and that always makes me feel good because you know she’ll buy you stuff. And this is what she bought me.

(What? I’m using the product so I can model it myself. lol)
My blog, my rules 🙂

This is the Egyptian Magic, an all purpose cream.
Yup. It’s that small. And it cost P195!
For something this small, I thought that’s quite expensive.

But then I tried it out and I bit my tongue.
It is sooooo worth it!
It’s so light on your skin and it really moisturizes it.
So for a product this good, the price is just right!

You can use it on scars or wounds or even on your hair but I prefer using it on my face. I guess it’s called magic because you can use it with anything!

So let’s find out what this is all about, shall we?

Egyptian Magic is an all-natural skin cream made from six of nature’s most powerful moisturizing and healing ingredients. For more than 20 years we have been blending these ingredients using our unique, proprietary process based on a formula that was created thousands of years ago in the land of the Pharaohs. The result is a luxurious cream with moisturizing and nourishing properties that are legendary among celebrities, the fashion industry, even doctors and hospitals. With that support, Egyptian Magic has grown exclusively through word-of-mouth to be one of the most popular and widely endorsed skin creams in the world.

– olive oil
– bees wax
– honey
– bee pollen
– royal jelly
– bee propolis

5ml- P195
20ml – P695
4 oz – P1,950

And the endorsements? woah! (check it out yourself)
In the Philippines, you can find it in Watson stores.

But, you can find out more on their website.

As for me and my skin, it’s the perfect moisturizer…. so far.

A hot meal for my guy at Muvan’s Pocherohan and Seafoods.

That’s how early we go and hear mass.
I have that side too, you know (religious). Well, sometimes.

Anyway, I watched “The secret” again days ago and wanted to try it out.
My boyfriend was a candidate to be given the opportunity to be a trainer/ mentor in one of their company’s account so, as a supportive girlfriend, I called onto the universe and believed that he’ll get it . Which I actually do believe that he will.

That was last night.

What better way to do a follow up than at a church right? The universe needed a little boosting up so I did it again this morning. As we stepped out of the church checking both our phones, lo and behold!

He got the confirmation that he was chosen to be one of the mentors. Oh yeah!
I was so proud of him that I was literally jumping up and down the street. I looked silly but who cares? He got it! (I’m already silly so it doesn’t really make a difference)

And as manly as he is, he just hugged me, kissed my forehead and said thanks.
Yeah right! For all I know, his insides was doing cartwheels and backflips. hahaha
C’mon! We needed to celebrate.
So that’s how we ended up in this restaurant:
Muvan’s Pocherohan and Seafoods.

We have a lot to celebrate and I wanted my guy to have a good hot meal.

And so we did.

I don’t have actual pictures of the food that was served, unfortunately.
You have to understand. It was 8am, I had no sleep and my stomach was complaining like crazy. So yeah, I had an ulterior motive for bringing my boyfriend here.
What? I was hungry…

But I did manage to take a picture of the menu.
You’ll be surprised at how affordable it is and they really do serve good food. So check this out.

Ryan, my boyfriend (he needs a name doesn’t he?) and I had these:

Breakfast meals:
Spam with egg and rice:                  70
Lechon Kawali with egg and rice:    70
Pochero (good for 2-3 pax):             130
2 Tropicana orange juice:                 15/ea.

Total:                                                 P300.00

I told you it was affordable!

But just a little reference for those of you out there who does not know what in the world we were eating, here’s something to clear that up.

*Spam- A canned meat product made mainly from ham.
* Lechon Kawali-  is pork belly deep fried in a kawali, which is Filipino for a wok or a deep frying pan.
* Pochero- casserole dish of boiled beef, chicken, dumplings and vegetables.

And here’s a Muvan’s pochero picture…
I’ll provide one myself next time… Promise. (Unless I get so hungry and just eat everything again before taking the picture.lol)

(picture by Precious M. posted in foursquare)

This affordable yet delicious food-serving restaurant is situated near Mango Ave. Area.. It’s at Century Plaza Commercial Complex, Juana Osmena, Cebu City, Philippines.

Good news deserve good food, I always say.

Congratz Baby for getting the spot and thanks Muvan’s for helping us celebrate it.

Till next time!
